Molinia caurelea ssp. arundinacea 'Transparent'

One of the most handsome of grasses the purple moore grass stands tall over fine strap like leaves its almost black flowers are formed in small beads on light and airy stems. Turning a golden yellow in autumn it looks good planted mid border amongst perennials which have strong seed heads such as Monarda and rudbeckia. Plant in moist soil in full sun or part shade it grows to an eventual height of 1.8m and spread of 1m.
